Ballet
Open Level Ballet: Wednesday 7:30-9:00pm
This is a basic ballet class open to all levels. It is recommended to wear socks or ballet shoes in class.
Modern Dance
Sun 2PM – 3:30PM Open Level Technique
Wednesday 6PM – 7:30PM Intermediate/Advanced Technique
Our Modern/Contemporary Dance class is taught by rotating Core members of CMD who will present a variety of styles and techniques. This class is primarily Intermediate but is open to any mover who is willing to be challenged! Wear comfortable clothes that do not hinder movement- no shoes necessary.
Improvisation: Sun 3:30PM – 4:30PM
Our Improv Classes vary each week with a different Core Member to facilitate and to bring new focus or a set of improvisational structures. No dance experience is necessary – only the desire to move! Wear comfortable clothes that do not hinder movement- no shoes necessary

Capoeira

Capoeira originated in Brazil and is a dynamic expression of Afro-Brazilian culture. It is an art form that encompasses martial arts, dance, and acrobatic movements as well as its own philosophy, history, culture, music, and songs. “a dance-like fight, a fight-like dance, a song, a way of life!” – Mestre Acordeon
Student-led training: Thu 6:00PM – 7:00PM
This class is an hour of student-led training and review of Capoeira skills and exercises. Come prepared to sweat!
*New for 2013 Kids Class: Sat 10:00AM – 11:00AM
This is a new student-led class for kids to learn the fundamentals of Capoeira, have fun and sweat. Contra-mestra Avesruz will join occaisionally. This will be an ongoing class but parents can register for 16-week sessions.

Location
All classes are held at the Emporium Center for Arts & Culture in the Annex Studio.
The Emporium Building is located on the corner of the 100 block at Gay St. and Jackson Ave.
Parking is available on or below the bridge or in front of the building.
To find the studio: walk south from the Emporium’s main doors to the metal walkway between the buildings. Descend the metal staircase, pass through the courtyard gate, turn left in the alley, and knock on the window on your left. Someone will let you in through the door.
